| TROY, N.Y. Mary Ann Cioffi of Troy passed away peacefully surrounded by her sister and life partner on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 after a courageous struggle with cancer. She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Frank and Anita (Errera) Cioffi. She was employed by the Troy School District, retiring in May, a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Troy, and a graduate of Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Mary Ann was an advocate for the homeless and needy, always participating in clothing drives. She was a sports enthusiast and wrote a sports column for the Hudson Valley newspaper. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Anita (Lulu) Close and brother-in-law, Bill of Wynantskill; and her life partner and best friend, Michael (Maynard) Riley of Walnut St., Troy. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. |
